Verrutop is a highly effective wart treatment for children, offering a painless and simple solution that’s easier and more comfortable than many standard methods. What Happens in a Treatment?

  • The podiatrist first prepares the skin, then uses a fine capillary applicator to place the Verrutop solution directly onto each verrucae.

  • Once applied, the formula triggers a chemical reaction within the wart tissue, causing the wart to dehydrate and the infected cells to break down.

  • The wart typically changes colour — turning white, grey or yellowish — as part of the “mummification” process.

What Happens After Treatment?

  • Between appointments, patients are asked to apply surgical spirit to the treated area twice daily — this helps speed up the wart’s dehydration.

  • Over time (usually across 3–6 sessions, spaced 2 weeks apart), the wart dries out completely and detaches naturally, leaving healthy skin behind.
